International Women’s Day is a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
Women are an invaluable part of the NHS, making up more than three quarters of the organisation’s workforce.
This International Women’s Day, we’re highlighting the achievements of some of the incredible women who support or work for Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW), a provider of mental health and disability services in the North East:
North East student shortlisted for national nursing award

Virtual Event
NHS staff from across the country are also invited to join a virtual event to be held on Zoom from 10am to 12.00pm, where you will hear from our NHS chief executive Amanda Pritchard; Dr Bola Owolabi, director of healthcare inequalities at NHS England; and Claire Barnett, executive director at UN Women. You will also see presentations from organisations that are doing great work to progress gender equality and make a positive difference for women working in health and care.
