Westbridge – Information for referrers
Westbridge is a Tyne Housing residence in the community for men and women working in partnership with Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust.
Westbridge provides assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for men and women over 18 years, who have been assessed as previously having an identified risk of causing significant harm to self or others, and are thought to continue to require on-going assessment and management of their risk in relation to their mental health. Westbridge has 14 single beds – 12 full time and 2 in-reach beds for graded integration. Support is offered for people being discharged from hospital or prison, to help them return to living in the community. Through a graduated process of transition we have an expectation that clients can and will work collaboratively and are able to function within, and respect the requirements of living in a communal environment, and can demonstrate a therapeutic level of engagement with their recovery.
The Westbridge team includes Tyne Housing staff, providing support on a 24-hour basis. The service is supported by a clinical team which includes:
- Psychiatrists
- Psychologists
- Service manager
- Assistant Practitioners
- Community Psychiatric Nurses
- Admin staff
- Social workers
