Welcome to Staffing Solutions.

The staffing solutions service offers one of the most flexible ways to work within the National Health Service.

We recruit high quality temporary staff to our Banks to work across a variety of services in a wide range of specialities across the Trust to meet staffing shortfalls due to sickness, annual leave, maternity leave or short-term vacancies. Staffing Solutions also offer additional and flexible working to existing employees and people who want to work on a temporary basis.

Our membership consists of the following staff groups to each of the Trusts Banks.

 

Registered Nurses (Nurse Bank)

If you are a Registered Nurse you can gain access to additional hours, by becoming an NTW Bank member.

Registered Nurses include: RNLD, RNMH and RGNs

You may be required to work in the following areas:

  • Inpatient and Community Mental Health
  • Children and Young People’s services
  • Forensic
  • Learning Disabilities
  • Neurological services

Revalidation for Registered Nurses: our Staffing Solutions Team are committed to assisting our qualified nurses to complete the revalidation process.

Healthcare Assistants (Nurse Bank)

Allied Health Professionals (AHP Bank)

If you are an Allied Health Professionals (AHP) you can gain access to additional hours, by becoming an NTW Bank member.

The Allied Health Professionals cover a variety of roles which include: Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Dietitian and Speech and Language Therapist and support staff.

You may be required to work in the following areas:

Administration and Clerical

If you work in an administration and clerical role within the Trust you can gain access to additional hours by becoming an NTW Bank member.

The Administration and Clerical Service cover a variety of roles which include:

  • Ward Clerks
  • Receptionists

  • Admin Officers

Psychological Services

Who can join?

If you work within psychological services you can gain access to additional hours, by becoming an NTW Bank member.

Psychological services covers a variety of roles including:

  • Clinical Psychologist
  • Higher Assistant Psychologist
  • Assistant Psychologist

External Process for Joining the Bank

For external (non Trust) staff, including agency the following process will take place.

Expectations of a Bank Worker

  • A bank worker is expected to work a minimum to three shifts per month.
  • Bank workers are expected to provide availability to work through the SMART electronic system. Instructions for this can be found here.
  • You should keep your availability up to at all on eHL. You may be asked to work at any of the Trust’s sites, sometimes at short notice.
  • You are expected to familiarise yourself with Trust policies and procedures which are available of the Trust intranet and adhere to them at all times.
  • Whilst undertaking any work within the Trust as a member of the Staffing Solutions Bank, you are required to adhere to any reasonable management instruction which includes reallocation to a different service according to the clinical need.
  • The Trust will remove you from the bank list if you do not undertake any shifts in a three month period.
  • It is essential that bank staff keep training up to date in line with Trust requirements.
  • Qualified nurses cannot take charge of a ward unless they have completed a Trust preceptorship.
  • A bank worker is expected to familiarise themselves with the working time restrictions and not exceed this.
  • You must not undertake any bank shifts when signed off sick.
  • The Staffing Solutions manager reserves the right to prevent you undertaking duties at any time.
  • You must uphold confidentiality at all times regarding any information available to you regarding patients, staff or business.
  • If you required by statute to have state professional registration to practice within the NHS, you must be so registered and provide proof of registration in such form as stipulated by the Trust. It is a condition of remaining on the Nurse Bank that your registration is current and maintained.
